AlDente: the all-in-one battery care and monitoring app for your MacBook

A healthier battery and a longer life for your MacBook. AlDente gives you the tools to take better care of your MacBook’s battery—easily and efficiently.

Why your MacBook needs AlDente

Extend battery life and protect your MacBook

Keeping your MacBook’s battery at 100% all the time wears it out faster. AlDente lets you set a charge limit, pauses charging when the battery gets too hot, and keeps your battery in good shape for longer.

Explore 20+ features for a healthier battery

Free Feature

Long-lasting power with the Charge Limiter

AlDente stops your MacBook from charging above a percentage you choose. This reduces battery wear and helps your battery last longer.

Free Feature

Discharge safely

Discharge lets your MacBook run entirely on battery while it’s plugged in, so you can bring the charge down to a healthier level.

Pro Feature

Keep your battery cool with Heat Protection

Charging a hot battery speeds up battery wear. With Heat Protection on, AlDente pauses charging automatically when the battery gets too hot.

Pro Feature

Calibration Mode for accurate battery readings

If your battery stays within a narrow range, such as 20–70%, for weeks without a full cycle, its calibration can drift. Running a full cycle about once a month prevents this, or every two weeks if your battery usually stays around 50%. Calibration Mode does it for you: AlDente charges to 100%, discharges to 10%, and charges back to 100%.

Pro Feature

Lean back with AlDente's Sailing Mode

Even with the Charge Limiter on, your MacBook’s battery normally charges and discharges slightly to stay at the set percentage. Sailing Mode lets you set a range instead. Example: with Sailing Mode set to 75–80%, AlDente lets the battery drift down to 75% after it reaches 80%, and only then charges it back to 80%.

Pro Feature

Keep an eye on your battery’s health with Stats

Stats shows detailed information about your MacBook’s battery and power usage, including maximum battery capacity, temperature, system load, and more.

I wish I had this software when I first got my Mac; my battery would have been much healthier as my Mac aged. I’m grateful that I found this software now to manage the rest of the battery life on my reliable Mac, which I love so much!!

Paweł Wilk

The best app on Setapp! I don’t know how I’ve lived without it in the past. Battery health on my MacBook is just 1% less than over a year ago! It’s not possible with standard battery management on macOS.

Daniel

Two years in, by every metric, this Mac seems to be doing better than my personal history, and handily beating the average for coconutBattery users. Normally capping your battery to 70–80% would be a nuisance when on the go, but fortunately my schedule is regular enough that AlDente’s scheduling feature automatically gets me to 100% at the right moment.
