How to Add a New Language to AlDente
Prior to starting a translation for AlDente, ensure that the language you intend to translate to is not already included. If your macOS system does not use the language you wish to translate into, you can still select a specific language exclusively for AlDente. - If you haven’t done it yet, download and install AlDente by following our Installation Guide.
- Navigate to the AlDente application within your Applications folder. Right-click and select “Show Package Contents.”
- Proceed to Contents -> Resources -> en.lproj, then duplicate the Default.strings file.
- Using your preferred text editor, translate the content into your desired language.
How to Update an Existing AlDente Translation
Noticed an error in an existing translation? Here’s how you can help fixing it:
- If you haven’t done it yet, download and install AlDente by following our Installation Guide.
- Access the language file by right-clicking on the AlDente application, and then choosing “Show Package Contents.”
- Head to Contents -> Resources, select the relevant language folder and copy the Localizable.strings file.
- Using your preferred text editor, make the necessary corrections.
